Kelvin graduated with a Business Administration degree from National University of Singapore. He also holds the title of Associate Financial Planner (AFPCM), from the Financial Association of Singapore. He believes in setting life goals so as to plan ahead for his life. He keeps a “bucket-list”, which is a list of goals he wants to accomplish before he finishes his life journey. After his National Service, he started working part-time and giving tuition in order to try to complete one of his ‘bucket-list’ item, which is to pay off his tuition loan by the time he graduates from university.
His career as an Financial Services Consultant (FSC) came as a coincidence when he attended his University’s Orientation Camp and sat for a talk about this career. He was skeptical about this career at first but after reading more into it and finding out more from experienced consultants, he came to feel that this career was what he was looking for. It is not only a purposeful career, but one which allows him to have the opportunity to accomplish three of his ‘bucket-list’ items – to make a difference in someone’s life as much as possible, be financially independent and pay off his university tuition loan and to have a work-life balance.
Kelvin believes strongly in the quote:
“You cannot choose what happens in your life but you can choose what you are going to do about it.”
The quote emphasizes on his working style of always planning ahead. He also believes that this is the essence of Life Insurance. It prepares you for the uncertainties and allows you to better plan for the various life events in your life.
